October 27, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Russia is the main export destination for the Belarusian state-run tire manufacturer Bie\u0142\u0161yna, accounting for 90 percent of total exports, Hanna Basare\u016dskaja of its marketing department has told journalists. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bie\u0142\u0161yna also sells its tires in Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Venezuela and other countries, negotiating cooperation with Egypt, South Africa and Zimbabwe, she said. The company aims to increase its share on the Belarusian market from 40 to 50 percent, Basare\u016dskaja added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The European Union included Bie\u0142\u0161yna in the fifth package of its sanctions in late 2021. Later, Albania, Iceland, Japan, Liechtenstein, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Switzerland and Ukraine joined these restrictions. However, in March 2024, the European Court of Justice lifted the restrictions on Bie\u0142\u0161yna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few months later, the Belarusian Investigative Center said the company was supplying tires to the Russian military industry. Along with the Russian defense ministry, the list of Bie\u0142\u0161yna\u2019s Russian customers reportedly included companies from St. Petersburg and Nizhniy Novgorod that produce military vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In February 2022, Russia started a full-scale war against Ukraine in which the Belarusian authorities supported the Kremlin, allowing Russian troops to attack Ukraine from Belarus on multiple occasions and supplying arms to Moscow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
