October 25, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarusian Interior Minister Ivan Kubrako\u016d and To Lam, general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, have discussed the fight against transnational crime at a meeting in Hanoi, the ministry\u2019s press office reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sides also talked about cybercrime, drug trafficking, irregular migration as well as combating terrorism and extremism, it noted. Belarusian authorities often use the last two charges to persecute their political opponents within the country and abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About a year ago, Vietnam extradited to Belarus Vasil Vieramiej\u010dyk, a former volunteer with the Ukraine-based Kastu\u015b Kalino\u016dski Regiment fighting Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kubrako\u016d also met Luong Tam Quang, Vietnam’s minister of public security, to discuss personnel training, high-tech crime, bilateral exchanges and special forces cooperation. The Belarusian official reportedly promoted exports of Belarus-made uniforms and equipment for law enforcers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Five days ago, Pavie\u0142 Muraviejka, Belarusian General Staff chief, visited Vietnam to discuss military training for Vietnamese officers in Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
