October 14, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> \u201cIn recent years, as we have been subjected to sanctions pressure, it is precisely small businesses that have demonstrated the greatest agility and dynamism in seeking new partners and new logistical routes,\u201d said Volha Rusinovi\u010d, a department head at the Belarusian economy ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Compared with large businesses, it is much easier for small companies to restructure and find new contractors, Rusinovi\u010d told the Pervy Informatsionny<\/em> television network in an interview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the official, small and medium-sized businesses account for 20 percent of industrial production, about a third of retail trade and over half of restaurant industry sales. They account for more than 43 percent of goods exports and 60 percent of services exports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2024, Belarus registered 13,000 new small businesses, bringing the total to a historic high of 129,000. In 2025, the number increased by 9,000, the official said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the past five years, the government has provided 49 billion rubels in support to entrepreneurs through various programs, Rusinovi\u010d added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
