October 10, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Residents of Belarusian cities have come to view Russia as more dangerous than the United States, according to an online poll in September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Compared with April 2024, the share of those who considered Russia a menace increased from 13 percent to 18 percent, while for the US, the share decreased from 24 percent to 14 percent. The pollster iSANS attributed this change to the ongoing US-Belarus talks and release of some political prisoners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also in September, 34 percent of respondents called Ukraine a threat, up from 19 percent in April 2024; NATO, 34 percent, up from 29 percent; Poland, 21 percent, up from 20 percent; Lithuania, 14 percent, up from 12 percent; Germany, 11 percent, up from 7 percent; and China, 4 percent, up from 2 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The share of those who see no threat from any country also increased from 20 percent to 33 percent. Some 27 percent of those polled did not have an answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the share of those who supported fostering economic cooperation with the United States rose from 26 percent in November 2023 to 29 percent in November 2024 and to 33 percent in September 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to iSANS, the share of proponents of integration with Russia dropped from 74 percent to 55 percent between 2014 and 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
