October 5, Pozirk.<\/em> <\/strong>Poland has removed the deadline for considering asylum requests until March 4, said the Partyzanka nonprofit, which provides legal assistance to Belarusian \u00e9migr\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The move follows last month\u2019s entry into force of amendments to the March 2022 law \u201cOn Assistance to Citizens of Ukraine in Connection with the Armed Conflict on the Territory of That State.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative emphasized that the measure applies to the applications under examination by the Office for Foreigners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis means that if your case is already under review, the deadline for your application will not apply until March 4, 2026. If you have submitted a new application, the countdown will only begin after that date,\u201d it clarified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Poland has also put on hold the provisions regarding \u201cinaction of the authority\u201d (i.e., complaints about delays), \u201cexcessive length of administrative proceedings\u201d and \u201cobligation to notify the party of failing to resolve the case within the statutory timeframe.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Partyzanka has informed applicants that they will retain their legal status and all associated rights, although decisions on their cases may be postponed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf you are awaiting a decision on your asylum request, it is important to remember: your process has not been terminated, but the countdown for the deadline has been paused. After March 4, 2026, processing will resume,\u201d the initiative said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
