September 29, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The Prosecutor General\u2019s Office has announced the start of the trial for 55 members of an international scamming ring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The case is being heard at the Minsk City Court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The defendants allegedly committed their crimes between 2017 and 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The suspects specialized in stealing money from citizens of various states \u201cby deception,\u201d it charged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group stationed its \u201ccall centers\u201d in Belarus, Russia and Kyrgyzstan. The damage from its activities is estimated at more than 2.5 million rubels ($758,000).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The suspected have been charged with fraud, forming a criminal organization or participating in its activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, one person was charged with the illegal acquisition and possession of drugs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe perpetrators posted false information on the Internet on prospects for profitable investment in non-existent finance companies,\u201d the prosecutors said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
