September 18, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Officers of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested at least nine Belarusian nationals and launched a probe into their immigration status, the Association of Belarusians in America (ABA) said yesterday, citing one of the recent cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group warned political asylum applicants about the risk of arrest following an ICE summons. It noted that those held in detention centers are denied internet access, making it harder to prepare their legal defense. Detainees reportedly struggle to contact family members, lose valuable time that could be spent working with lawyers and do not have access to necessary medication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ABA has provided detailed instructions to Belarusians who may be potentially affected by this situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
