September 9, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> The Committee for State Security (KGB) added nine more people to its list of \u201cpersons involved in terrorist activities\u201d five days ago, its Telegram channel says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Juryj Ruba\u0161enka, Siarhiej Tulina\u016d, Arciom Siamiona\u016d, Iryna \u0160umiejka, Viktar Miekka, Aleh S\u0142abucha, Andrej Biesa\u016d, Viktar Jaski\u010d and Jauhien Hruk are the additions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They were all convicted on charges frequently used by authorities to target regime critics, ranging from inciting hatred and calling for sanctions to terrorism and illegal handling of firearms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rights groups listed \u0160umiejka, Miekka and Biesa\u016d as political prisoners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday, the media reported the death of jailed Russian national Andrei Podnebenny, who served a lengthy prison term in a politically-motivated case involving extremism and terrorism-related charges.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The \u201cterrorist list\u201d names a total of 1,456 people. Prisoners declared terrorists are prohibited from receiving money transfers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
