August 25, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Belarusian-Russian trade increased by 1 percent in the first six months, Alaksandar Raho\u017enik told the state-owned SB. Belarus Segodnya<\/em> in a video interview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian ambassador to Russia said, \u201cDespite the present difficulties in the Russian market, we grew at the rate of over 101 [1] percent in the year\u2019s first half\u2014although no one believed. And while we lag in mechanical engineering, we experience significant growth in construction and IT services. This is a huge portion,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIf our country\u2019s export [of goods and services] accounted for just over 40 percent in 2021, then in the first half of the year we reached as much as 67 percent. We significantly increased the volume of our product deliveries to the Russian Federation. And the most important thing is that we still have room to grow,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The diplomat highlighted the importance of food supplies as a significant component of the country\u2019s exports. Belarus can sell \u201cabsolutely everything\u201d it produces through leading Russian commodity networks, even in the event of significantly increased volumes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raho\u017enik noted the high demand for Belarusian products throughout Russia and pointed to particularly close economic ties with Smolensk, St. Petersburg, the Moscow Region, Moscow and Novosibirsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the National Statistical Committee, Belarus\u2019 dealings with the Commonwealth of Independent States countries from January to June 2025 resulted in a trade surplus. However, the country had a deficit in trade with countries outside the CIS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
