The maneuvers will cover a wide range of tasks, such as air defense, defensive battles and tactical aviation support, the military intelligence chief said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, cross-border incidents, such as airspace violations and cyberattacks, cannot be completely ruled out, he added. According to him, such episodes are typical of almost any large-scale exercise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The risk of Russia using the Zapad-2025 exercise to disguise larger-scale Russian operations against the region or to draw Belarus into a new phase of the war in Ukraine is minimal, Ma\u017eonas stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, Lithuania closed the airspace along part of its border with Belarus and moved to strengthen border security in connection with the upcoming exercise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Belarusian Ministry of Defense did not specify the number of troops that will take part in the Russian-Belarusian drills on September 12\u201316. Officers will reportedly practice in planning operations involving nuclear weapons and the Oreshnik missile systems.
