August 8, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The Coordination Council\u2019s Belarusians<\/em> faction has demanded the dismissal of Pavie\u0142 \u0141atu\u0161ka from his post as deputy head of the opposition United Transitional Cabinet (UTC), during a conference in Warsaw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Faction member \u015aviat\u0142ana Mackievi\u010d announced the demand during \u0141atu\u0161ka\u2019s question time at the Council, saying she would forward it to UTC leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe have no questions for Mr. \u0141atu\u0161ka. We have drawn a conclusion and give him an \u2018unsatisfactory\u2019 overall assessment for his work as UTC deputy head for the transition of power. There has been no transition,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She added that \u0141atu\u0161ka\u2019s simultaneous roles as head of his faction in the Coordination Council and as a UTC member posed a conflict of interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141atu\u0161ka has served in the UTC since its establishment in August 2022. Responding to the criticism, he argued that holding both ministerial and parliamentary positions was common in \u201cEuropean parliamentarianism,\u201d citing Poland as an example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusians<\/em> is the second-largest faction in the Coordination Council, with 13 seats. \u0141atu\u0161ka\u2019s faction holds 28 seats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
