{"id":147071,"date":"2025-07-16T17:03:25","date_gmt":"2025-07-16T14:03:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/147071\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"witnesses-say-droned-chased-shot-in-southern-belarus-last-week","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/147071\/","title":{"rendered":"Witnesses say drones chased, shot down in southern Belarus last week"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>July 16, <em>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Witnesses have told <em>Pozirk<\/em> that one drone was shot down and another one was pursued by a plane in the \u0141oje\u016d district last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Siarhiej\u2014whose name we have changed for his protection\u2014said he saw the downing of a drone near the village of Mocha\u016d, eight kilometers off \u0141oje\u016d. \u201cThe incident occurred in the night of July 11\u00ad12. The \u2018shahed\u2019 was making a characteristic sound, like a moped or motorcycle. It was shot in the air near Mochava, seemingly by an anti-aircraft system, but I\u2019m not sure. The fishermen by the Dniapro got scared,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to him, security officers promptly picked the remains of the drone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another eyewitness, Artur, said he saw a plane hunting a drone over Re\u010dyca in the early hours of July 10. \u201cI was working the night shift and heard strange sounds. I went out to look. The sound was just like that from a Shahed drone. It circled over Re\u010dyca, chased by a plane. I don\u2019t know if they shot the UAV down,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rynda Monitoryt, a Ukrainian monitoring channel, a drone headed toward Belarus over the Chernihiv region late on July 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Pozirk<\/em> has a video shot in the Homiel region that night. The soundtrack features a clear drone sound.
