July 10, <\/strong>Pozirk.<\/strong> <\/em>More than 20 drones that Russia uses to attack Ukraine were spotted in the Homiel region last night after crossing from Ukraine, Flagshtok<\/em> reported, citing eyewitnesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Five drones flew to Ukraine, while the rest probably fell or was shot down over Belarus, it noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At least 12 Russian attack drones crossed into Belarus in the early morning of July 8, an earlier report said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drone incursions have been regularly reported since mid-2024 as Russians attack Ukraine yet officials do not usually comment on the incidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a rare instance earlier this year, Deputy Interior Minister Mika\u0142aj Karpianko\u016d spoke about frequent combat drone incursions and the inability of Belarusian defense systems to cope with this type of UAVs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In late February, a Russian drone reportedly hit a high-voltage power line and caused a large-scale heat outage in the Homiel region\u2019s Mazyr. The incident was the first confirmed case of damage to the Belarusian energy system by drones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka claimed that Belarusian air defenses shoot down UAVs regardless of their Russian or Ukrainian origin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later, authorities refused to introduce additional security measures in Homiel region\u2019s Chojniki district, whose residents signed a petition to express concern about their children\u2019s safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
