June 27, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has criticized the United States and Israel strikes on Iranian nuclear infrastructure in his speech at the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Minsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said the Iranian president could not attend the summit \u201cdue to well-known circumstances\u201d and described the strikes as a dangerous violation of international treaties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI won\u2019t even discuss the feelings these actions arouse in Belarus, the country most affected by the Chernobyl nuclear accident. Back then, radioactive fallout was detected even in the UK, Germany and Sweden. They probably think that it won\u2019t get them now, especially the country that committed this act,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iran gained observer status at the Eurasian Economic Union in December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a video address to the summit, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said he stayed home because on June 13, the \u201cZionist regime\u201d had carried out a \u201ccruel assault and unlawful terrorist armed attacks\u201d against his country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe military attacks by the US and the Zionist regime on Iran\u2019s peaceful nuclear facilities that are fully monitored by the International Atomic Energy Agency grossly violate all international norms and cause irreparable damage to the nuclear non-proliferation regime by a permanent member of the UN Security Council,\u201d Pezeshkian said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iran’s foreign minister has admitted that “excessive and serious” damage was done to the country’s nuclear sites in the recent US and Israeli bombings between June 13 and June 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several hours earlier, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said the strikes did not disrupt the country’s nuclear program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Wednesday, Iran’s parliament approved a bill to stop co-operation with the global nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency. If it is implemented, it would mean Iran is no longer committed to allowing nuclear inspectors into its sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
