June 24. Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Minsk\u2019s delegation has handed over Nigerians thousands of units of Belarusian equipment during a ceremony in Abuja attended by Nigerian President Bola Tinubu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian delegation was headed by Deputy Prime Minister Viktar Karankievi\u010d, reported the cabinet’s press office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minsk has not specified the type of equipment sent to Nigeria, but a video posted to the Belarusian government\u2019s Telegram channel shows MTZ tractors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Nigerian president received an invitation from Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka to visit Belarus and accepted it, the report said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Karankievi\u010d said the official transfer of the Belarusian equipment occurred under a road map concluded between Nigeria\u2019s agriculture ministry and Minsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He called the event \u201ca significant contribution to enhancing Nigeria\u2019s food security and its citizens\u2019 wellbeing.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The roadmap also provides for the establishment of service centers with mobile teams to maintain and repair the equipment, the deputy prime minister said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere are plans to create assembly plants. The construction of grain drying complexes is under consideration. The agenda also includes the deployment of training staff to operate, repair and assemble equipment from Belarusian sets,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
