June 18, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>The defense ministry\u2019s chief ideology officer has urged officials to be on guard against \u201cWestern provocations\u201d and \u201cterrorist practices.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTerrorist practices targeting civilians have become more and more common. Since the West keeps plotting to destabilize the situation in our country, our country\u2019s security bloc must be ready for possible provocations and non-standard events, taking into account the regional situation,\u201d Leanid Kasinski told a conference on state ideology in Minsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He pointed out Belarus lies at the epicenter of the \u201clargest military and political crisis in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minsk sees European countries pretending to strive for peace in Ukraine but \u201craising the degree of escalation\u201d instead, the general said, as quoted by the defense ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the ministry, the conference was focused on \u201cpractical activities\u201d to maintain the morale among officials and security officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was attended by police and intelligence officers. The participants were shown the Belarusian army\u2019s \u201cmodern ideological technical assets.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
