June 3, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Bie\u0142lehpram, Belarus\u2019 closing and textile conglomerate, saw its exports to the European Union rise 26 percent in 2024, its CEO Ta\u0107ciana \u0141uhina has told a press conference in Minsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She said Bie\u0142lehpram’s companies exported goods to the Netherlands, Lithuania, Poland, Latvia and Estonia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“You see, there are sanctions, but some countries are getting more loyal to some product lines . . . These are our traditional lines, everything related to flax: linen fabrics and linen clothing. Sometimes people even come from Estonia and Lithuania to our wholesale warehouse in Minsk to pick orders. Our Or\u0161a Flax Mill is among the top 10 flax mills in the world,” she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also noted that Viciebsk-based Viciebskija Dyvany sold a few batches of carpets in the EU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Before these ‘temporary changes’ in the markets, they had worked quite well . . . in Belgium and Nordic countries,\u201d she said in an apparent reference to sanctions. \u201cNow there is some progress, but let’s see how it goes. Everything is so globally unpredictable that sometimes one year is different from another.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
