{"id":140324,"date":"2025-05-28T19:59:36","date_gmt":"2025-05-28T16:59:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/140324\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"minsk-regions-health-official-plays-up-benefits-of-house-calls-critics-disagree","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/140324\/","title":{"rendered":"Minsk region\u2019s health official plays up benefits of house calls, critics disagree"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>May 28, <em>Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>Iryna \u0141obach of the Minsk Region Executive Committee&#8217;s healthcare department has played up the benefits of house calls at a news conference today, noting that doctors visit patients even in remote rural areas in Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>General practitioners &#8220;make home visits and also visit elderly patients or children at home to actively monitor them and make sure they follow prescriptions,&#8221; \u0141obach told reporters in Minsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, some Belarusian healthcare professionals disagree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lidzija Tarasienka, of the Belarusian Medical Solidarity Foundation, told <em>Pozirk<\/em> in December that house calls make little sense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This system does not have any real benefits,&#8221; she said. &#8220;It is even less beneficial than pizza delivery. The courier brings you a pizza, while the doctor brings you a sick leave note, which can be issued by phone or via video link. The doctor cannot make a serious diagnosis or procedure at home because she only has her arms, legs and eyes.
