May 17, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has expressed hope for blossoming development of the Belarusian-Norwegian partnership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, \u0141uka\u0161enka congratulated the people of the Nordic country on Constitution Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I am confident that despite the artificial barriers, unreasonably created by contemporary politicians, we will find an opportunity to return to a full-fledged dialog for the benefit of both states,” the Belarusian ruler said, according to his press office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Republic of Belarus is ready to resume constructive cooperation with the Kingdom of Norway in all areas of mutual interest,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka asserted that Constitution has “deep historical and legal roots” in Norway as well as in Belarus. It unites “cultural, religious and national diversity into a single whole,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a similar congratulatory message in 2024, \u0141uka\u0161enka stated that resuming bilateral dialog is in the interest of the populations of both states, particularly with regard to regional stability. He said that the doors of Belarus “will always be open for its Norwegian friends.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, in the 2023 congratulatory message he expressed regret over Oslo “joining politically motivated, illegitimate sanctions” against Minsk and “violating the rights of ordinary Belarusians.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
