April 7, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>The daughters of missing Belarusian opposition politician An\u017ealika Mielnikava are in Belarus staying with their father, ex-husband Andrej Mielnika\u016d has told Zierka\u0142o<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The man said he does not know his ex-wife\u2019s whereabouts, noting that they have not been in touch for a long time. The daughters are seven and 13 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The missing woman\u2019s associate, Warsaw-based politician Pavie\u0142 \u0141atu\u0161ka, has said, citing Polish investigators, that she is not in Poland and most likely not in Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mielnikava, speaker of the opposition Coordination Council (CC), has not contacted her associates since March 25, \u0141atu\u0161ka told Pozirk<\/em> on March 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her powers have been temporarily transferred to Stanis\u0142ava Hli\u0144nik, deputy speaker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On March 29, Polish interior ministry spokesman Jacek Dobrzy\u0144ski said that Polish police were investigating her disappearance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mielnikava was elected speaker on July 11, 2024. She represented the faction Team \u0141atu\u0161ka and Movement for Freedom, which took 28 of 80 seats in the CC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
