April 2, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Belarus faces “a new attempt of creeping Polonization” from political emigrants, reads an article by Boris Gryzlov, the Russian ambassador in Belarus, distributed by Russian propaganda outlets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He refers to the Belarusian emigrants who fled political reprisals in their county as the government continues to enact revenge on its political opponents for standing up against election fraud in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The article, published on the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia, April 2, has been disseminated by the diplomatic mission and Russian propaganda media. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moscow and Minsk face “hybrid aggression unleashed by Western elites,” the diplomat claims.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This dangerous game, directed also against the union of Russia and Belarus, is meant to create among the Belarusian people a false image of a hostile, strong neighbor who dreams of subjugating and conquering [Belarus] for some unclear purpose. In the distorted mirror of this perception, integration seems almost a colonial process, incompatible with preserving Belarus\u2019 state independence,” he says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He dismisses accusations that Russia seeks to absorb Belarus and assimilate its people as \u201cmerely echoes of a conflict within the West.\u201d “The possibility of building equal relations does not fit in any way into their picture of the world, based on subordination to the ‘big master’.”\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ambassador pointed out “an obvious threat posed by destructive, rabid nationalism rooted in denying the ethnocultural kinship of the Eastern Slavs.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his opinion, “this is precisely the scenario that was implemented in the Ukraine.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also today, Belarusian opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja criticized Minsk\u2019s strong ties with Russia, noting that her country does not need alliances fraught with deaths and the erosion of national identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe \u0141uka\u0161enka regime has isolated Belarus from the world \u2013 clinging to Moscow as its last lifeline. Every step toward Putin is a step toward erasing our sovereignty,\u201d she stressed on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Under the guise of ‘brotherly people,’ propaganda lies about security, stability, and a common culture\u2014while war, repression and the complete subordination of our country to the Kremlin’s interests continue outside the window,” she added. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian authorities support the Kremlin in its full-scale war against Ukraine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
