{"id":129919,"date":"2025-03-13T20:08:08","date_gmt":"2025-03-13T17:08:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/129919\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"lukasenka-reiterates-commitment-to-russia-says-belarus-building-vehicles-for-oreshnik","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/129919\/","title":{"rendered":"\u0141uka\u0161enka reiterates commitment to Russia, says Belarus building vehicles for Oreshnik"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>March 13, <em>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka, during his meeting with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin today in Moscow, was strongly vocal in reiterating his commitment to an alliance with Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He claimed that more than 90 percent of Belarusian voters, who had come to back him in the presidential poll in January, also voted to support close ties with Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Belarusian ruler\u2019s remarks were broadcast by state media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I have no doubt that not only my colleagues, government members, deputies and I support our closest relations. We have proved this in our united struggle, the center of which is the conflict in Ukraine,&#8221; \u0141uka\u0161enka said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Central Election Commission claimed that 86.82 percent of voters supported \u0141uka\u0161enka in January&#8217;s election, however, these numbers were called into question by opponents who said that the vote was rigged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The election was held under total government control amid severe repression. Western governments have not recognized \u0141uka\u0161enka as a legitimate president and also rejected the results of the previous election in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Before the talks with Putin, \u0141uka\u0161enka answered a question from journalists about Russia\u2019s plan to station Oreshnik ballistic missile systems in Belarus. &#8220;The Oreshnik has not yet been delivered,&#8221; he answered, noting that Belarus has yet to build transporter erector launcher vehicles for the missiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We&#8217;re working on it. Several launchers for the Oreshniks have been assembled today. From the &#8216;big brother&#8217; [Russia], we will only need the missiles.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On January 26, \u0141uka\u0161enka told a press conference that the Oreshniks could arrive in Belarus &#8220;any day now.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>March 13, Pozirk.
