{"id":126841,"date":"2025-02-18T14:07:50","date_gmt":"2025-02-18T11:07:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/126841\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"lukasenka-pledges-to-do-anything-for-libya","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/126841\/","title":{"rendered":"\u0141uka\u0161enka pledges to \u201cdo anything\u201d for Libya"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>February 18, <em>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has expressed readiness to cooperate with Lybia as he met Field Marshal Khalifa Belqasim Omar Haftar, commander of the Libyan National Army (LNA), in Minsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI have a special feeling for your people, I have been to Libya once,&#8221; the Belarusian ruler&#8217;s press office quoted him as saying. \u201cOf course, today it is a different Libya but you should know that . . . we will fulfil on time any promise we make today while you are in Belarus.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are ready to work,\u201d \u0141uka\u0161enka stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Haftar reportedly praised Belarusian technological development and manufacturing industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Libyan warlord arrived in Minsk yesterday together with his son Saddam Haftar and sons-in-law Bassem al-Bouayshi and Ayoub al-Ferjani to discuss \u201cissues of mutual interest,\u201d the LNA said on Facebook. Ivan Tertel, chief of the Belarusian Committee for State Security (KGB), greeted them at the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u0141uka\u0161enka visited Libya in 2000 where he met Muammar Gaddafi ousted and assassinated in 2011. Gaddafi visited Minsk in 2008.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Libya\u2019s political crisis has been ongoing since Gaddafi\u2019s fall. Since March 2022, two different governments control the country, the Tripoli-based and internationally recognized led by Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh and Benghasi-based government led by Osama Hamada. The LNA, led by 81-year-old Haftar, is loyal to the Libyan House of Representatives in Tobruk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2019, Haftar launched a failed attack on Tripoli.
