February 18, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The Belarusian economy grew by 3.7 percent in January year on year, the National Statistics Committee (Bie\u0142stat) said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bie\u0142stat also reported an increase of 3.3 percent in agricultural production last month compared to January 2024, while industrial output rose by 2.9 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inventories rose by 11.8 percent in January, accounting for 72.5 percent of the average monthly output.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian households\u2019 disposable income (net of taxes, fees and contributions, adjusted for inflation) rose by 9.7 percent last year, exceeding the government\u2019s forecast of a 3.5-percent growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

January’s performance was \u201cwell above our forecasts,\u201d Prime Minister Raman Ha\u0142o\u016d\u010danka told journalists yesterday following his meeting with Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The official pointed out a 20-percent rise in investments, successful trade and good indicators in the industry which performed well despite difficulties. The January momentum should be maintained for the first quarter of 2025, he stressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government projects GDP growth of 4.1 percent for 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
