February 16, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja and Georgia\u2019s fifth president, Salome Zourabichvili, have discussed the regional situation, Russian interference, and joint actions in the international arena, the Belarusian opposition leader\u2019s top aide Franak Via\u010dorka told Pozirk<\/em>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the talks at the Munich Security Conference (MSC) on Sunday, Cichano\u016dskaja voiced her support for the Georgian people fighting for a European future. \u201cAdditionally, they discussed possible scenarios of events in Belarus and Georgia and cooperation with the new US administration,\u201d Via\u010dorka said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He quoted Cichano\u016dskaja saying after the meeting that she \u201cwas glad to meet President Zourabichvili.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cShe spoke in support of Belarusians many times, even on the United Nations podium. Same as Belarusians, the Georgian people deserve freedom, respect, and a European future without oppression,\u201d Cichano\u016dskaja said. \u201cSalome Zourabichvili is determined to fight for her country\u2019s European future.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier today, Via\u010dorka announced that Cichano\u016dskaja had discussed Belarusian political prisoners with Volker T\u00fcrk, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During their talks at the MSC, she underscored that the situation is catastrophic and requires an immediate intervention. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCichano\u016dskaja passed him documents from Belarusian human rights defenders on the latest wave of repressions, the situation at prisons, and the lists of political prisoners in critical condition,\u201d Via\u010dorka told Pozirk<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
