February 15, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> \u201cThe radiation situation is stable. The gamma dose rate at the air radiation monitoring stations corresponds to the values observed for years,\u201d said D\u017amitryj Rutko\u016dski, the Homiel Regional Executive Committee\u2019s radiation official.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said<\/a> a Russian drone struck the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine, just outside the Homiel region. According to him, the attack occurred overnight into Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zelensky said radiation levels have not increased, despite \u201csignificant\u201d damage to the concrete shelter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur specialists, together with the [meteorological and climate monitoring service] Bie\u0142hidramiet\u2019s Homiel branch and the Poliesie State Radioecological Reserve, are constantly monitoring the gamma dose rate in the region,\u201d Rutko\u016dski said, according to the regional executive committee\u2019s Telegram channel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
