February 5, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>Poland has installed more than 500 posts and 1,300 cameras on the Istoczanka and \u015awis\u0142ocz rivers in the Podlaskie Voivodeship near the border with Belarus, RMF24<\/em> reported<\/a>, citing Border Guard spokesman Andrzej Ju\u017awiak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The contractor is ready to commission the facility: all subsystems, power connections and fiber-optic communications have been built. Thus, the installation of an electronic barrier at this section of the border has been completed, he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The construction was approved by the country’s government in February 2024 in response to illegal migrants’ attempts to cross the border from Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It spent 85 million zlotys (about \u20ac19.55 million) on the 47-kilometer long barrier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
