January 30, Pozirk<\/em>. <\/strong>As many as 790 Belarusian nationals received treatment at the state-controlled Belorus health resort in Lithuania’s Druskininkai, Hienad\u017a Ba\u0142bato\u016dski of the national authority in charge of health resorts has told journalists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the past few years, the Belarusian facility has been providing services to nationals of all countries, he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2020, the European Union froze the resort\u2019s accounts as a part of sanctions against the Belarusian government. The facility resumed operation only after Viktar \u0160ejman, targeted by the EU\u2019s asset freeze and entry ban, resigned from the Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka administration\u2019s property management office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In June 2024, the Minsk City Court sentenced the resort’s marketing head Elena Ramanauskien\u0117 to six years in prison in a trial behind closed doors. Authorities accused her and an unnamed manager of sharing records on resort guests, including high-ranking Belarusian officials, with the Lithuanian State Security Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, the Committee for State Security (KGB) reported the arrest of Andrej Kobel, a former chief physician at the resort who was tried on charges of high treason for allegedly spying for Lithuania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
