January 30, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has voted unanimously to denounce<\/a> Belarus\u2019 January 21-26 presidential election as blatant contempt for basic democratic standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSince the fraudulent elections of 2020, the Lukashenka regime has systematically implemented measures that in their design and implementation have entirely eroded all vestiges of the key pillars of democratic society in the country,\u201d says the resolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ryszard Petru, the PACE general rapporteur for a democratic Belarus, presented the draft. An\u017ealika Mielnikava, a member of the Belarusian opposition\u2019s Coordinating Council, presented the council\u2019s position during the debate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
