Attorneys expect the verdict on January 17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hiercen, who was raped and nearly strangled, died in a hospital on March 1 without regaining consciousness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The attack sparked outrage on social media.
