January 9, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Ma\u0142gorzata Kidawa-B\u0142o\u0144ska, marshal of the Senate of Poland, has denounced Belarus’ January 21-26 presidential election as a sham after meeting with \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja today in Warsaw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is impossible to call the election free as long as more than 1,300 people are imprisoned for their political beliefs and aspirations for democratic governance, Kidawa-B\u0142o\u0144ska said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She highlighted the importance of a road map for cooperation with the Belarusian pro-democracy movement, which is being drafted in the Polish Parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She called for bringing Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka to account for human rights violations in Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also declared the non-recognition of any document signed between \u0141uka\u0161enka and Russian President Vladimir Putin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cichano\u016dskaja noted, among other things, the importance of tighter sanctions against Minsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday, Cichano\u016dskaja met with Szymon Ho\u0142ownia, chairman of the Polish Sejm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
