{"id":120246,"date":"2024-12-30T23:18:47","date_gmt":"2024-12-30T20:18:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/120246\/"},"modified":"2026-02-24T20:40:57","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T20:40:57","slug":"ukraine-russia-exchange-prisoners-of-war-in-belarus","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/120246\/","title":{"rendered":"Ukraine, Russia exchange prisoners of war in Belarus"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>December 30, <em>Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Ukraine and Russia have exchanged prisoners of war in Belarus, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of the swap brokered by the United Arab Emirates, 189 Ukrainian soldiers and 150 Russians returned home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A total of 173 privates and sergeants, 14 officers and two civilians captured during the occupation of Mariupol were released from Russian captivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Russian defense ministry confirmed the deal but said that only 150 Ukrainian soldiers were swapped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;At present, all Russian military personnel are on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, receiving the necessary psychological and medical assistance, as well as the opportunity to contact their relatives. All released Russian servicemen will be transported to Russia for treatment and rehabilitation in the defense ministry&#8217;s medical facilities,&#8221; it said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was the 11th prisoner swap between Ukraine and Russia in 2024.
