December 12, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka’s press office reports that he has approved a sketch of a plan of Belarus’ defense for 2026\u20132030 at today’s Security Council meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The defense minister said the paper is based on an analysis of the 2020 Belarusian protests and Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which he described as a “color revolution” and a “special military operation,” respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also takes into account Belarus’ new National Security Concept and Military Doctrine, the defense ministry quoted General Viktar Chrenin as saying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“In the future, we will do more detailed planning to define the role and place of each state body, as well as each citizen, in ensuring the defense of our state \u2013 based on the principles of reasonable sufficiency and, of course, on the economic capabilities of our state,” Chrenin said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goal is to prevent military aggression and war, and to fight back if it happens, he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The document covers five key \u201cstrategic\u201d areas, said General Staff Chief Pavie\u0142 Muraviejka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“To reduce military danger and prevent military conflicts, i.e. the actions that we will take in the political, economic, information and military spheres to achieve this,” the general said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Plans for defending our country with arms in various modern conflicts, and issues related to preparing the economy of the state and the state in general for functioning in wartime.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, officials paid considerable attention to maintaining international peace and security, Muraviejka added. They outlined a set of measures and agencies to implement them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“All this will then be transformed into and implemented as a plan to defend the Republic of Belarus,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
