November 24, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> There is no confirmed information or evidence about the deployment of Russian nuclear weapons in Belarus, the BelPol association of former law enforcers said in an investigative documentary posted on YouTube.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even though the Belarusian army has the Iskander tactical missile systems, it does not automatically mean that it has nuclear warheads for these systems. These are produced in small quantities and their presence in Belarus has not yet been recorded, BelPol noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since February 2023, Russia has started deliveries of Iskander-M missile systems to Belarus which are based at a military facility in Asipovi\u010dy, Mahilo\u016d region, the movie said. However, there is no special storage for nuclear munitions there, it noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russia does not have a military base in Belarus required to control the nuclear weapons as the Kremlin has repeatedly stated that only the Russian military can control nuclear weapons, BelPol said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Such a base would need several hundred servicemen in addition to vehicles and armored vehicles, but BelPol’s sources reported only the periodic presence of Russian servicemen in Belarus linked to the transfer of the Iskander missile systems and shipment of munitions to Russia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minsk allowed Russia to deploy tactical nuclear munitions in Belarus last spring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In late 2023, \u0141uka\u0161enka confirmed their delivery. A CIA report leaked earlier this year suggested that nukes might be stored in the Mahilo\u016d region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
