November 7, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Hrodna’s Leninski District Court on Wednesday considered a case against Siarhiej \u010cabo\u0107ka, the owner of the local news portal s13.ru<\/em>. He was charged with violating the procedure for organizing mass events, a misdemeanor. The decision is unknown. On October 25, \u010cabo\u0107ka was sentenced to 15 days in jail for allegedly sharing extremist content. The website and its social media have not been updated since October 23. A week ago, authorities listed s13.ru<\/em> as extremist content, Sudy, Zaderzhaniya. Grodno i Oblast<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Voranava District Court in the Hrodna region considered a case against local resident Kaciaryna Ka\u0142aso\u016dskaja, accused of sharing extremist content. The decision is unknown, Pravo Imeyut<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Minsk City Court started hearing a case against Arciom Zia\u0144kovi\u010d, charged with extremism funding. Details of the trial are unknown, Na\u0161a Niva<\/em> reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The death certificate of political prisoner Dmitry Shletgauer listed \u201cmechanical asphyxiation\u201d as the cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities banned over two dozen TikTok pages as extremist, including phoenix_inform<\/em>, romanchuk_s<\/em> and racyjabelarus<\/em>, the information ministry reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At least 88 people, including 13 women, have been convicted of high treason after the 2020 presidential election, the Viasna Human Rights Center reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also said that 15 political prisoners, including one woman, were released in October after serving their sentences. Two more were released from detention centers after being sentenced to restricted freedom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As of November 7, human rights defenders identified at least 1,287 political prisoners but the real number is considerably higher because many cases go undocumented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian authorities have arrested about 65,000 people for political reasons in the four years since the August 2020 presidential election, Viasna reported in early August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
