October 28, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The December 5 meeting of the Supreme State Council of Russia and Belarus should add clarity to cooperation between the two countries for next two years, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has told Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov in Minsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka and Russian President Vladimir Putin are expected to participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt’s necessary to dot all the i’s. Preferably, at the Supreme State Council,\u201d the Belarusian ruler\u2019s press office reported, quoting him as saying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u0141uka\u0161enka noted that \u201cmuch depends\u201d on Manturov’s mission, stressing that he and Putin are looking forward to the results of the visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe may agree that Russia will be interested in our new projects and increase funding,\u201d he said, expressing gratitude to Moscow for financing import-substitution programs in his country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Supreme State Council is also expected to consider a treaty on security guarantees, which reaffirms Russia\u2019s readiness to use nuclear weapons in response to \u201cexternal aggression\u201d against Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Russian diplomats planned to finalize the draft treaty by early December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
