October 13, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Belarusian journalist Andrej Miale\u0161ka has told Pozirk<\/em> that his expulsion from Georgia in September was “just the beginning” of hostility toward Belarusians, and that the number of such expulsions has since increased to about 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“A few days ago they did not let in two Belarusians. One is a member of the [opposition] Coordination Council,” the journalist said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miale\u0161ka and his elder daughter now live in Poland. The wife and the younger daughter stay in Georgia. Belarus Solidarity Foundation announced a fundraiser to support the family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The journalist plans to apply for a permanent residence permit or political asylum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian journalist settled down in Georgia after fleeing political reprisals in Belarus. On September 16, he and his minor daughter returned to Georgia from Poland but were turned away at the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities did not let his wife to pick up the daughter in Kutaisi, although the girl passed through passport control. In the early hours of September 17, they sent Miale\u0161ka and the girl back to Warsaw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
