{"id":108854,"date":"2024-10-11T12:05:47","date_gmt":"2024-10-11T09:05:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/108854\/"},"modified":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","modified_gmt":"2026-03-09T20:10:49","slug":"audit-reveals-violations-in-suspended-polish-business-visa-program","status":"publish","type":"articles","link":"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/108854\/","title":{"rendered":"Audit reveals violations in suspended Polish business visa program"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>October 11, <em>Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> The Supreme Audit Office&#8217;s inspection at the Polish foreign ministry uncovered dozens of violations in the issue of visas during the previous government\u2019s tenure from 2018 to 2023, <em>polskieradio.pl<\/em> reported, citing Polish Foreign Minister Rados\u0142aw Sikorski.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scale of violations was &#8220;shocking,&#8221; he said, noting that the ministry under his leadership is working to repair the damage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among other things, violations included the \u201clack of a legal framework\u201d for the Poland Business Harbour (PBH) program, suspended in January over its vulnerability to abuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Set up in September 2020 to attract professionals from Belarus-based IT companies to Poland, PBH was later expanded to include Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Russia and Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Warsaw reportedly issued more than 90,000 visas under the PBH, yet only about 15,000 foreigners with PBH visas from various countries have relocated to Poland since 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk accused the previous Polish government of allowing \u201chundreds of thousands\u201d migrants from Asia and Africa as well as IT specialists from Russia and Belarus to settle down in Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The latter groups may have been used by foreign states to set up their spy networks in Poland, he noted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also read: <a href=\"https:\/\/pozirk.online\/en\/news\/92289\/\">Poland cuts back on work visas for Belarusians<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>October 11, Pozirk.
