October 5, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Successful agricultural exports allowed other Belarus’ economy sectors to adapt and reorient export flows amid “illegal, unprecedented and fascist sanctions,” Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka’s press office reported, quoting him as saying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his address to participants in an annual agricultural fair in Mika\u0161evi\u010dy, Brest region, he praised farmers as “the backbone” of Belarus and expressed his intention to visit every Belarusian region to meet agricultural workers in an apparent reference to his upcoming presidential campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the past few years, democratic countries have imposed multiple restrictions on Belarus over human rights abuses, alleged vote rigging in the 2020 presidential election, a brutal crackdown on protesters, the forced landing of a Ryanair flight, a migration crisis at the European Union border, as well as support of Russia’s war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
