September 19, Pozirk<\/em>.<\/strong> Minsk has not yet decided whether to invite international observers for the 2025 presidential election, Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has told election officials from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in Minsk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe so-called international observers . . . would bring ready-made reports which they will publish and sign off,\u201d his press office quoted him as saying. \u201cAs for the CIS, we are always glad to have your representatives at our election. Your friendly advice, remarks or even criticism are taken seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is hardly anything to be learned from electoral campaigns in other countries, he added, noting that Belarus needs to follow its “own standards” in accordance with existing legislation and the Constitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and others in the West cannot impose their principles on Minsk, he stressed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seventh presidential election in Belarus is to be held no later than July 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
