September 7, Pozirk.<\/em><\/strong> Last night, Ukrainian air defenses downed 58 Russia\u2019s Shahed attack drones, while several others could have crossed into Belarus, Ukrainian Air Force Command reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bie\u0142aruski Hajun monitoring group has recorded at least eight drone incursions over the past night. A Supercam reconnaissance drone was also spotted over Belarus, it added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the drones reportedly flew as far as the Hrodna region and was directed towards the border with Lithuania. Its current whereabouts are unknown.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian fighter jets took off from the Baranavi\u010dy airfield in the Brest region at least four times last night in addition to two helicopter flights from the military airfield near Minsk, according to Bie\u0142aruski Hajun. Military aviation was spotted both in southern and northern Belarus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two days ago, Minsk confirmed that Belarus\u2019 air defenses shot down drones that violated Belarusian airspace. Flagshtok<\/em>\u00a0reported that two Russia\u2019s attack drones were shot down over Homiel, a Belarusian regional capital near the Ukrainian border, as they were flying to attack targets in Ukraine\u2019s Chenihiv region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Belarusian opposition leader \u015aviat\u0142ana Cichano\u016dskaja expressed concern about the incident. \u201cWar is creeping into Belarus and we must stop it,\u201d she said<\/a> on X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ukraine\u2019s Air Force has reported Russian drone incursions into Belarus in the past few weeks, yet Minsk which supports Russia in its war against Ukraine, did not comment on the earlier incidents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead, Belarusian diplomats accused Kyiv of launching combat drones over Belarus, and stressed that the Belarusian army was ensuring national security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
