August 27, <\/strong>Pozirk.<\/strong> <\/em>Belarusian authorities are facing a hard task of reorienting the country “from the West to the East,” Alaksandar \u0141uka\u0161enka has told teachers during a large-scale event in Minsk ahead of the new academic year, his press office reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keeping in mind “a war going on in the south” and the impact of the Western sanctions, Belarus has \u201cto make sure\u201d that it is accepted in the East, he said. \u201cThank God, we can do it, but it’s the most difficult task,” \u0141uka\u0161enka added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Belarusian ruler also claimed that he received proposals to join Ukraine’s fight against Russia but did not specify any further details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In February 2022, Russia started a full-scale war against Ukraine. Authorities in Minsk denied the Belarusian army\u2019s involvement in combat operations but allowed Russian troops to attack Ukraine from Belarus on multiple occasions and persecuted Belarusians for an antiwar positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Democratic countries imposed multiple restrictions on Belarus over its support of Russia\u2019s war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
