April 25, Pozirk. Alaksandar Łukašenka at the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly has threatened the relatives of his opponents who fled Belarus after the 2020 presidential vote.
“Remember that you are doing very serious harm to your relatives. Remember that you have some property here. I advise you to forget about this property. But do not put your relatives at risk, you know what this can lead to,” Łukašenka warned.
He called Belarusian emigrants “traitors and bandits who are planning to capture Belarusian territories.”
At least 300,000 people have fled the country since 2020 amid political reprisals.
