Biełstat: Belarus’ GDP up 4.1 percent in Q1

April 17, Pozirk. The Belarusian economy grew by 4.1 percent to 53 billion rubels (about $16.2 billion at the current exchange rate) in the first quarter of 2024, the National Statistics Committee (Biełstat) said.
In January-February, Belarusian gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 4 percent after 2.8 percent in January.
The government projected a 3.8-percent growth for 2024.
The International Monetary Fund expects Belarus’ economy to expand by 2.4 percent this year, while the World Bank projected a 1.2-percent increase.
In 2023, GDP rose by 3.9 percent after falling 4.7 percent in n 2022.
