Belarus not planning to enter Russian-Ukrainian war – Łukašenka

April 12, Pozirk. Belarus does not need and will not need to enter the Russian-Ukrainian war, Alaksandar Łukašenka has told reporters in Moscow.
“Russia needs a peaceful, quiet, calm Belarus that does its job. I do not deny that we are co-aggressors. Everyone does their job,” the Belarusian leader’s press office quoted him as saying.
He seized the occasion to accuse NATO of doing its best to drag Belarus into the war.
Łukašenka argued that if he entered the war, Belarus and Russia would not be able to defend the frontline along the border with Ukraine, Poland and the Baltic states.
“I tell you we will not be able to do it. Do we want problems? No, we don’t. This is the second point. The first is that such Belarus may come in handy to Ukraine, like to Russia today,” he said.
The Belarusian leader also noted that Ukraine has fortified the shared border. “You cannot approach it; it has been fully mined and secured with concrete, and there are 120,000 Ukrainian soldiers at this border.”
