Prices of industrial products up by 6.2 percent YoY

April 1, Pozirk. The Eurasian Economic Union reports that in February, Belarusian industrial products were 6.2 percent more expensive than a year ago.
Since February 2023, producer prices for industrial items in the EEU rose by 17.8 percent, including 19.5 percent in Russia, 7.9 percent in Kyrgyzstan and 2.4 percent in Kazakhstan.
In Armenia, the prices fell by 0.6 percent.
Notably, producer prices in mining and quarrying jumped by 41.3 percent in the EEU, including by 47.7 percent in Belarus.
According to the Belarusian National Statistical Committee, in January the country’s industrial production rose by 5.4 percent year on year to 15.6 billion rubels ($4.77 billion).
In October, then-Economy Minister Alaksandar Čarviakoŭ said that industry will remain the driver of the Belarusian economy in 2024.
