Łukašenka meets with Xi in Beijing, emphasizes “unity of ideologies”

December 4, Pozirk. Strategic partnership between Belarus and China is based on the “unity of ideologies” and “the very logic” of the current “global events,” Alaksandar Łukasenka has told Chinese President Xi Jinping at their meeting in Beijing.
Since March, officials from both countries have discussed trade and joint production projects at 120 meetings, he noted.
Minsk is interested in China’s development into a powerful state, Łukašenka’s press office reported citing him as saying. Belarus also supports Beijing’s foreign policy goals of building a community of common destiny for mankind, he added.
The concept dates back to 2012 and has been criticized as a manifestation of China’s global domination drive.
Xi praised Łukašenka’s “strong leadership” and pledged to work together with Belarusian partners to strengthen strategic cooperation.
