March 19, Pozirk. John Coale, US special envoy for Belarus, has arrived in Minsk, where he is holding talks with Alaksandar Łukašenka at the Palace of Independence, Pul Pevogo, the Belarusian ruler’s unofficial Telegram channel reports.
Yesterday, Coale met with Lithuanian Prime Minister Inga Ruginienė in Vilnius before traveling to Belarus.
Visits by representatives of US President Donald Trump’s administration are typically followed by talks with Łukašenka and the release of groups of designated political prisoners. In return, some sanctions may be eased, as previously occurred with Biełavija and Biełaruśkalij.
