Belarusians close warming point in Kyiv

March 8, Pozirk. Belarusian volunteers have closed their warming point in Kyiv’s Darnytskyi District, which provided food and power for war-hit residents for nearly two months, Alena Žarkievič of the Sustreča nonprofit said on Facebook.

“During this time, we managed to feed and warm hundreds of people. But this point was not only about food and warmth. It was also a place for conversations. Here, we talked a lot with Ukrainians about Belarus,” she said.

“We talked about repression, people forced into exile, migrants and Russia’s huge influence on Belarus.

“For me, it is very important that Ukrainians listened and wanted to understand.”
