Łukašenka to Iran’s envoy: “treacherous attack on Iran” unacceptable

March 4, Pozirk. Israel’s “treacherous attack on Iran, supported by the United States” is unacceptable for Belarus, which consistently upheld and continues to uphold peace, Alaksandar Łukašenka has told Iranian Ambassador Alireza Sanei at their meeting in Minsk.
Minsk is “well informed about what is happening in the Middle East,” including in “friendly Iran,” the Belarusian ruler’s press office quoted him as saying. “War is fundamentally unacceptable to us,” he stressed, noting that “Belarus, situated at the epicenter of countless conflicts, has come to deeply understand their true cost.”
Israel and the US “must realize that this conflict could lead to unpredictable events,” Łukašenka added.
The politician also spoke of his “good relationship” with the late Iranian supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. “We met, I think, three times and discussed global issues,” he said. “He was a humanist rather than a military figure, focused on protecting his people and his country.”
Yesterday, Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryžankoŭ expressed support for Oman’s efforts to establish lasting peace in the region at his meeting with Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, pledging to make every effort to help de-escalate the conflict.
Military operations in the Middle East intensified on February 28 amid stalled negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program, as Washington pressed Tehran to curb its nuclear activities and address concerns over its enrichment and uranium stockpile, while Iranian officials maintained they would not accept US demands without significant concessions on sanctions.
Iran’s longtime ruler Ali Khamenei was killed at his residence during the United States and Israeli strikes on February 28. Tehran retaliated by launching missiles and drones at Israel and targeting American bases across the Middle East.
The US Operation Epic Fury against Iran aims to destroy the Iranian missile industry, defeat the fleet, prevent nuclear weapons development and ensure freedom for the Iranian people, according to US President Donald Trump.
Oman was also drawn into the conflict as Iranian drones attacked Duqm port in the south of the country and an oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman.
